Q. Should I remove the PC-12 files/folders prior to updating

Quick answer - YES. Just to clarify, the issue of should you remove an install before updating to a new PC-12 is not related to the plane. This is a computing issue for any software. When a new version of any software is released the developer may either delete or combine some files or rename them. If a user does not completely remove an old install there is a very high chance that there will be conflicting, redundant files and hence the install becomes corrupt.

Golden rule ALWAYS COMPLETELY REMOVE AN OLD INSTALLATION (for any software).

Note: this will not remove any configuration settings, they are stored elsewhere.
